How many times have you heard the expression ‘you are what you eat’? We say it, we hear it, we read it but how many of us stop to think what this actually means?
Most people when asked will tell you they are healthy, viewing health as an absence of disease. If we do not have a named disease then we must be healthy. Yet these very same people on closer questioning will tell you they have little or no energy, suffer frequent headaches, general aches and pains, mood swings, insomnia to mention but a few. The truth is, very few people experience a really good level of health. I come across very few people who wake up in the morning with vigour and plenty of energy unless they have had their coffee or tea and/or sugary breakfast.
Look at someone that is healthy, note their energy levels (not the false energy that nicotine, caffeine, sugar or salt gives you), their clear eyes and their sparkle for life. They have a glowing clear skin, often bubbling with enthusiasm. With a little know how you too can achieve a better state of health. Few of us have reached the point of no return so it is never too late to consider changing.
Before you read on I would like to ask you to write down everything you have been eating and drinking in the course of a normal week. It will give you a very clear picture maybe for the first time. In my experience, most people are not fully aware of what they are eating and drinking exactly until they see it all written down. Then put it away safe and return to it once you have finished reading this book.
Unfortunately, most of us take our health for granted until something goes wrong, this is a shame as prevention is always easier and better than cure. As the saying goes ‘you don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone’. This is so true of our health.
Our needs for health are simple – fresh air, pure drinking water, sunshine and fresh live food. These are the bare essentials of life I’m sure you would agree. However, most people consider their coffee, their chocolate, and their bread, as being essential to their well being. Few people I see drink water on a regular basis leave alone eat much in the way of live fresh enzyme rich foods.
